Man fatally shot in Montgomery County restaurant, police say

One man was fatally shot and a second was critically wounded Saturday at a restaurant in Montgomery County after an apparent dispute involving a third person, county police said.
Montgomery County police said Monday that they found 34-year-old Marvin Jefferson of Silver Spring outside the America’s Best Wings restaurant suffering from gunshot wounds.
“An altercation inside” the restaurant at the White Oak shopping center apparently preceded the shooting, police said. They said a “suspect left the scene” afterward and remained at large Saturday night.
The gunfire was reported about 5:50 p.m. at the restaurant in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue, according to the police.
The site is just southeast of the interchange between New Hampshire Avenue and Route 29.
Both victims were taken to hospitals, where Jefferson died and the other was in critical condition, police said Saturday night. The second victim has since been released from the hospital, police said Monday.
The nature of the altercation could not be learned immediately. Police said they do not have a suspect in custody and that the investigation is ongoing.
